Exquisite Corpse

Installation

While considering what to do for this 24 hour exhibition entitled Super!MACHT, I quickly came to the conclusion that the power of education and the student/teacher relationship was a topic to explore. Working collaboratively to create visual art pieces and installing an exhibition would be an experience that my students and I have not had before.

In the classroom we began by researching artifacts that related to the students' ideas of power. Collaboratively we worked on creating Exquisite Corpse drawings as the Surrealists had done. Various drawing techniques and collages were explored. Students were challenged to combine their research of the artifacts with their Exquisite Corpse and complete a new version. Individually, we have interpreted the meaning of Super!MACHT and created visual art pieces. A collection of this work will be exhibited salon-style in the selected corridor.
